How PSA Prices Grading
PSA charges by service level, and the service level is set by the card's declared value: what you expect it to be worth once graded. Higher declared values need a higher level, which costs more and insures the card for more.
Declare honestly. If PSA values the graded card above the cap of the level you paid for, they move it up a level and bill the difference.
Is Grading Worth It?
Grading pays when the graded value beats the raw value by more than the fee and the shipping both ways. A card that sells for nearly the same raw and graded is rarely worth sending, however clean it is.
Remember that the grade is not guaranteed. Price the grade you realistically expect, not the one you hope for, and check what one grade lower would sell for.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does PSA charge to grade a card?
It depends on the declared value. Each service level covers cards up to a maximum value, and the fee rises with each level. The calculator above shows the full ladder and the fee for any value you enter.
What is declared value at PSA?
Declared value is what you expect the card to be worth after grading. It sets both the service level you pay for and the amount the card is insured for while PSA holds it.
What if PSA thinks my card is worth more than I declared?
PSA can move the card to the service level that matches their valuation and charge you the difference in fees.
Does the calculator include shipping?
Yes. It adds an estimate for getting one card to PSA and back in a small submission. Larger boxes spread shipping across more cards.
